Trying to backup a movie and my usual method goes wrong for some reason.

The file I get is the correct legnth (a little over 2 hours) if import it into DVDMaestro... but its not been reencoded yet.

After reincode with CCE is finished its only about 1 hour and 45 min long...

This is the ONLY movie this has happened to so far...

    Any ideas?

Oh yeah I'm using DVD2DVDR to rip the streams then encoding them with CCE and loading them into DVDMaestro (cause Scenarist crashes no matter what I do for some reason) When I encode I'm using the script/setting file the DVD2DVDR makes for me but since I dont have it auto start CCE I have a change to tweek any settings I might need to.

Seems the ECL file has settings at the bottom for the start and stop frames, well the stop frames was to early and so it was chopping the movie...

I have a way to lookup the end frames but its a very round about method... any know the easiest way to find out when the end frame is so I can put it properly into my ECL file?

    I have the same problem.
I changed the frame_last & encode_last in the .ecl file but the encoding gave me an error and it stopped at the same point as before my editing.

Any idea about the way to solve this?

  5. I remember having that problem.

It was a SUPER pain in the ass.

I'm sure I deleted a file or two, also some registry keys, and I think I even reinstalled CCE to fix it. But a nightmare for sure.

Lesson: NEVER EVER EVER use CCE to set the frame range.

  6. Are you frameserving into CCE? Or are you importing M2V files? I just re-encoded Brotherhood of the Wolf using the frameserv method, work for me without issues.

In the end it turns out its not CCE at all, its the cce ecl thats being created for me thats incorrect. It has the wrong end frames listed, thus it cuts off the file. Not a big deal as I'm doing it a different way now.

I had the same exact problem using DVD2DVDR. Turns out the author wrote it for PAL and it has some NTSC issues. His next version, 1.0.4, will hopefully fix it.

Yeah I think its caculates the end frames based off of PAL which is less frames/sec right? So it SHOULD be simple fix... IF he decides to do it... however I have a pretty good working method at this point so if he does cool I'll switch, if not... oh well..

  10. Your having problems with Scenarist 2.6 too? I have tried it on Win 2K, Win 2K SR3 and Win 98 and still can't get that piece running correctly. It just dies on me about 30% of the way through on everything I try. That sucks too becasue for single PGC movies I hear it keep the original menus using DVD2DVdR!
I have also notice that CCE cut my movie short too. I was encoding Blade II which originally shows 1:56 and when CCE is finished it shows 1:32. I would wait for the new version of DVD2DVDR but if I can't resolve my issues with scenarist I don't see the point.
