i just bought a Sony DRU500A and i am trying to encode an avi to dvd . i can do the avi samples just fine with my dvd (sonic) with no encoding on my part but when i try to do the whole avi the burn light isnt lite up. through some research i found out it was showing file size to big.i learned this by loading a 2520 bitrate standard mpeg-2 encoded for svcd into the my dvd program it and it showed 2.2 gigs left after only an 800 mb file was loaded.so on to the question i encoded the avi with tmpgenc to dvd using the dvd template and ended up with a 2.2gig mpeg2 plays fine in power dvd but when i load it to my dvd it ask for an audio file and says that no audio was detected in the clip. if i cut a small piece of the mpeg it opens it fine and sound is there so any ideas on going from avi to dvd would greatly be aprecited thnks in advance

ok from reading other post using the same drive i am thinking that the problem is my audio setting as my dvd wont do ac3 audio it only does pcm audio which according to what i read is larger there for giving me the outta room problem. so now i geuss i am asking what audio format should i encode my sound to so that my dvd will use it with out taking up 3 times the space? I saw in another post a guy uses 48k mpeg1 layer2 i will try that in a few hours i am at work now and cant test any ideas would be greatly apreciated
