  1. Hi, I followed the directions at this link.
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/sefy/?id=ClassicalGuide.html
I got all the way to TMPGEnc - Wizard where i select my video and audio files. The audio goes in fine but i get a error message when i try to put my video file in. The message has my file name and then says cannot open or unsupported. I can watch the video if i open DVD2AVI and open the file, I dont know much because I'm just starting. So any help please. Is there a easier way of doing this. I had nero but downloaded what i needed from the page i visted. http://www.vcdhelp.com/sefy/?id=ClassicalGuide.html

Did you follow the directions here:
Enjoy. (Start with the Newbie section if you have no clue where to start.)
It is Baldrick's welcome to all newcomers, remember? Anyway, you would have found this if you had:
If you get an error message when opening the video or audio like file unsupported
or you get an empty(black) video preview window
or the video look wierd in the video preview window like green or purple or pink
Be sure that you have installed the DivX Codecs (both DivX 3.11, 4 and 5) and also try with the Nimo Codec Pack. If that does not work try to change the codec reader settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 and try open the video.

  4. I do belive the easiest way from DVD-->VCD is using EazyVCD from www.eazyvcd.tk It does pretty much all the work for you. Its real good for beginners. Only a couple easy options to pick and then rip it. Its FREE, fast, simple, and best of all you get awesome quality VCD's. You can also make VCD's look better by increasing the bitrate to 2500 which then makes the VCD to a XVCD.
