  1. I'm having a problem with motion buttons and background music. When the little video clip in the buttons restart so does my background music. The motion button duration is 5 seconds so my music restarts every 5 seconds. Am I messing it up or is this some sort of workshop limitiation?

    Thank you,
    Jon

You are not doing anything wrong...thats the way WORKSHOP
is set up. The video is tied to the audio. So when the video loops,
    so does the music.

    What i do is this:

If my video motion menus is 15 seconds, then i make a 15 second
audio clip, and i fade out at 14 seconds. So the music fades, and
    the video loops.

Makes for a better presentation overall. I normally make my video
motion menus 15-20 seconds, 5 seconds is really not enuff time.

  3. Just seems like there should be a way to make the background music loop independantly of the motion button looping.

Yup, i agree. I'm not sure if any dvd authroing packages allow this.
I know i have some hollywood dvd's, and they loop the same way.

  6. If I'm not wrong with Pinnacle Studio 8 you can add a music backgroud for all the menus and it will loop independently of the menu you're in. This was nice, but since S8 was so buggy I decided to go with DVD WS instead S8...

ah,,i'll have to check it out. Never used any Pinnacle stuff.

I like Workshop, as it has a nice selection of features, and its
    pretty easy to use.

  8. I've run into this too. You have remember that the motion menu is actually an mpeg video clip, with audio, set by the length chosen in MOTION MENU time block. DWS creates this mpg video (during the rendering process) and then simply loops the video clip and therefore the audio until the MENU TIME-OUT ACTION time.

If you wanted to have the music play throughout, and only loop the video, you would have to create a menu yourself and loop the video clips however many times throughout the song length. (jon_w, you should already have background menu mpegs created in the ~MENU folder, so start at step 6)

    Here's how:
