I just installed the Asus DVR-104 drive in my computer, I also have a Benq CD writer. When I try to copy a CD (not DVD), it always try to use the Asus DVD drive as the recorder. I want to use my old Benq drive but when I try to do this in Nero, it says that cannot be done in the version I use and to buy the 'full' version. My question is, what version will support this, and also is there any good free burning software available that I can use to burn both DVDs and CDs, using both the drives. Thanks in advance for helping a newbie.

Did your installed version of Nero come with the A04 drive? If so it is what is called an OEM version and will only work with the type of drive it was bundled with. As the Nero message says, to use it to write to a different brand of CD drive, you need to buy the full retail version of Nero.
