I am keen to try the generic sourceforge drivers with my Hauupauge WinTV-FM card, for better compatibility with capture software, more flexible resolutions etc. Downloaded and installed the drivers OK, but when I preview or capture TV or Video, the result is much worse than the original (Hauppauge) drivers. It almost looks like interference on the screen. the audio is fine but the video shows feint scrolling diagonal lines.
I've double checked the configuration and can't find anything wrong. One thing that puzzles me though is that even if you tell the system you are in the UK (PAL-I standard), you don't get PAL-I as a video standard option in the TV Tuner settings. Not sure if this is relevant or not ?
If its significant, am running W2K SP2 on AMD1900XP, 256K DDR RAM.
Thanks.
