  1. I have a Wharfedale 750 and usualy plays svcd's fine, I have loads of them, but they are mainly svcd's that I've downloaded off the net.
I have tried to make my own svcd (via mpgenc and a avi) and everything seemed to go fine, but whenever i try and play it on my Wharfedale it plays for 3 seconds then freezes, with no sound??!!
Whatever I do encoding-wise makes no difference, i've tried different media, different burn speeds etc etc but nothing changes it!!
Is this something to do with the Wharfedale 750's??

    Does anyone know?

    Any help appreciated

i have a wharfedale and the same problem. if you read the dvdplayer reports on this site for the wharfedale, other people are having trouble too. i've heard that it's something to do with svcd's burnt with nero in winme. i only have winme so i cannot make a test svcd under a different operating system. i presume you use winme too?

  4. NERO SUCKS!!
    It was nero all along!
Bin it Boss, and install VCDEasy. Dead easy and my disc worked first time. I think it's just to that Nero crap and not winME.Try it

i've tried making svcd's with nero for my sharp 740 as well as the wharfedale, but the picture keeps breaking up. i think you're right, nero is crap for making svcd's. i'll have to try vcdeasy again.
