  1. I have a movie thats i downloaded and its in bin/cue, but the image is too large to burn it directly on cd, can i extract it to hardrive first? And then how would I split the movie?

Don't ya love all these Newbie Stupid Questions

Okay this image did burn on cd-- but it was 800megs? how did nero fit it on 700 cd?

And it was in VCD format already, with all the folders, etc. but the movie runs 120 minutes, how did they encode that.

Using the guides I only get about 60 minutes on a cd..
Am I missing some guides I should read?

BTW the quality of movie if what I would expect in a VCD, plays fine on my stand-alone.

  2. You can use these free tools:

vcdgear will conver the bin/cue to mpg http://www.vcdgear.com/

TMPGenc will cut the MPEGs http://www.tmpgenc.net/ (look under File - MPEG tools)

VCDeasy will help reauthor back to 2 VCDs www.vcdeasy.org

The cutting and reauthoring software can also be purchased - Ulead VideoStudio 6 and Nero respectively will do those jobs also as will several other programs. www.ulead.com www.nero.com

    Hope this helps!

  3. About 807 MB of MPEG1 standard VCD encoded video will fit on a 700MB CD-R. It burns using a different burn mode from data or audio so it can fit more. A 650 MB CD-R holds about 740MB VCD MPEG1.

If you encode to nonstandard VCD (lower bit rates) you can fit even more minutes of video. BUT this is called a xvcd, a nonstandard format that may not be compatible with your DVD or VCD player.
