Why isn't there one program that can perform all the functions? My hope is that some of the DVD 9 --> DVD-r 5 gurus who have tested "every" software program for ripping, encoding, remuxing, etc. would be able to answer this. I have used IFOEdit, DVD Decrypter, Maestro, etc and can't help but think one of you smart guys (no sarcasm intended) would be able to create a program to incorporate the best of all of those functions into one program for a "one touch" DVD backup feature able to preserve menus, extras, max quality for Audio & Video, basically an exact copy with a smaller file size. In every other tech field this is the natural evolution of things it seems. Are we just not there yet? The closest I have heard is InstantVideo included with VOB Instantcd/dvd 6.5 but I'm still not done converting to see if it works because it takes 24 hours per HOUR to convert which is rediculous. Anyway, I would appreciate your input and thanks in advance for not ripping me to pieces for asking "stupid" questions. LOL!

The only one i've come across that does this is DVD2DVDR

Although you already need to have CCE 2.5 and Scenarist. it can only do single PGC movies as well but i've used it 5 or 6 times now and not had any problems. -
Funny you should be asking about this. There is a beta version releasing today of a program which is attempting to do just this. This is the page of the product, it is not yet available. As I Stated only the beta version is being released today, but you can get some ideas about the program by looking at the page.
Real version is suppose to be released around Nov. 1st or so the floks at 321studios say.
There is considerable skeptisism about the program out there. But either way you will be hearing more about it in the next few weeks, I'm sure.

Please, don't order now, WAIT. At this point the software is unproven. Great idea but unproven. Personally I think this barrier will be broken by christmas.[/url]Jim -

friend,
It won't cost me a dime. I already know how to use the various dvd backup techniques.
I'll give my honest appraisal, good or bad.
There is a want for this product in the marketplace, someone is going to make it, maybe dvd2svcd or Sevy or Derrow or maybe studio321!
I think by Christmas.Jim -
Thanks for both the opinion and I agree that some enterprising person with just enough know-how to incorporate all of the functionality needed to get the job done will do this very soon. I would jump at the opportunty to buy/try any new programs that remove keystrokes and thought from the process for the simple reason that the current techniques actually require me to "sit" in front of my computer to backup a disc and I my time can be better spent actually watching these movies and drinking. I feel like I almost put in as much time as the director did making the movie in the first place.
