I am using Verbatim DatlifePlus 32x 80min cdrs from the recommendations on this forum. Of the 50 in the spindle, about 5 didn't complete the burn and the vcdeasy burn program terminated prematurely. ANother 12 burned completely, but my WINDVD4 couldn't read the last 5-7 minutes smoothly because the video was extremely jerky and froze the program, sometimes resulting in a reboot of my computer to stop the freeze. However, if instead of playing the svcd normally, if I went to OPEN FILE, and went to the VCD submenu mpeg2 on the disc to read, and played the avseq01.mpg file, it plays fine, but the time elapsed is off by a significant amount. I would then burn the video again til my WinDVD4 could read it properly..usually worked perfectly on the second attempt.
Are those 12 cds that burned completely ,but were troublesome when WINDVD tried to play the last 5-7 minutes, coasters? I am burning on 2x speed. I am wondering why windvd will properly play the avseq01.mpg file, but has trouble normally playing the last 5-7 minutes of a disc? I paid 28 dollars for a spindle of 50 at office depot. THere are sales for Imation and Maxell and Memorex, but people seem to have problems with them also.
