  1. I can't burn over 4.3gb onto dvdr.....

The latest problem I've had is Ali G in Da House.
I have it on the hard disk as a title set, it is 4.33gb.
when i burn it with nero all seems to be going well up until 98%.
at 98% it just hangs, the burn light stays on. I have to do
Ctrl-Alt-Del and end task, even at this the burn light stays on and
drive won't eject. I have to shutdown and restart.
I've had this problem before and it always seems to be when
your approaching the max disk size. The problem occurs with
primo dvd aswell so I'm pretty sure it's not the burning software.
The dvdr's I'm using are 2x Monarch disks. My burner is a
    Pioneer 104.

Has anyone encountered a problem like this before????

    4.3gb is the max

  3. i thought 4.38gb was the max

also nero and primo refuse to burn if its over size, and ifoedit reports free space if you open with it and select dvdr size!!!!!

  4. Maybe you have a crappy disc that does
not have "writable" media close to the edge.

    Joyride burned fine with Nero
    4.33 GB (4,654,792,704 bytes) : size of Video_TS folder

The beauty who posted before me got it correct... you have crappy media that can't burn above 4.3GB at 2X. You might want to try burning at 1X, but with media this bad, I would return it to the vendor and get the good stuff.

Nero won't even start a burn when you load more data than the disk can hold (as jr2k mentioned).

  6. dont use nero

    its awful with dvd movies
nero seems to burn dvd movies slightly wrong, they seem to play in most seperate dvd players okay, but if you try and device that strictly sticks to the format such as an xbox they wont play at all.

I prefer Recordnow max, dvds now work with everything
