    so waht I did was open up tmpgenc, mpeg tools , loaded up the mpg and did a simple multiplex, chose mpeg 2 super vcd (vbr) as type, effectively just overwriting the header. nero now doesn't complain about hte stream. am i good to go for burning svcd?

    I usually get this error and I still burn the mpeg2 file anyway and it works. Never had it to not work. Reply if it doesn't work and I'll try and help you some more

    Try unchecking the "Create standard compliant CD" option and burn it .
