I just installed a Lite-On LTD-165H(ATA 66,UDMA mode 3,smart-X) and the speed is awesome!I ran Neros' "CD speed" and the drive rips at 76x average,in fact it continued to increase(to 88 x)when the test ended.Very low CPU usage(1-6%) and seek times from 76ms-200(full).All this for $41US.
OH almost forgot,PowerDVD XP is included.

Maybe you can run this test again with "Nero DVD speed"
As your numbers refers to what a CD drive should read
a CD-ROM.
16X DVD is not the same as 16X CD.
B.T.W, are you the guy that gives thumps up (Ebert)?
Your picture looks like him, I'm the chick to the left (not !!) -
Ooops,thanks for the advice Brittany.
Guess I should upgrade Nero to 5.5.9.14 -
This website have the DVD Speed tool,
and you could upload your result to them.
Run the Test with Data DVD, single layer DVD, and Dual layer DVD.
