I want to get a tv capture card for recording tv progs ,dv camera and
tranfering
holiday videos to svcd (mpeg2). I read that the win haupage was supposed to be exellant for svcd s. But after reading users comments it was rather mixed ratings .
I do not need the digital channels that are provided with the WinTV - Nova-T PCI .
any comments on win or other suggested cards that does what I want and where to buy would be appreciated.

In April, I got the Canopus ADVC-100 and never looked back. It will capture everything that you listed and do it at 720x480. Also the quality of the captures are far superior to TV capture cards. It's not a tuner so you will have to run it through a VCR or something that can tune. If you have the money (around $280) then get this box.
