Good buy or what?

Hello,

I have an intersteting situation. My family lives in Europe and I live in the US. We have sent SVCD back and forth with DV home movies and lately we have gone over to DVD-R. Yesterday when I tried the DVD-R in my pioneer DV343 it just rolled. This is the first time I have ever had a problem playing a PAL disc in a US DVD player. (PIoneer - Never had a problem with PAL SVCD or VCD!)

I have been looking and found out that DVD-R has a problem to play on a non multi region TV if you don't have a converter attached to the DVD. I found this place online and I wanted to see what you think or if you have heard any good things about this solution. (

PS... This version that is listed on www.vcdhelp.com is not made regionfree etc)
