Yesterday I did a small test to see exactly how good the seperation is between the chanels in Prologic II.

Using this as the source...left speaker...right speakear.....etc etc

    (ac3test.vob)

Demuxing the vob so I had seperate AC3 & Mpv streams.

I then encoded the AC3 stream using Headac3he & Besweat as I was lead to believe from the various posts on this and other forums that these are the best (If you know of other encoders you consider better let me know).

I used surround2(better for prologic II surround chanels)
    No dynamic compression
+ all inputs set to(including LFE) set to 0dB
    Psy model 2
    bitrate 256
    Stereo

Next I muxed the the Audio&Video streams back together burnt to CD and played it back in my Mustek560.

I found the seperation much better with the Headac3he encode which kind of surprised me? as I thought be-sweet was supposed to be the better one as it used 2lame encoder for the mp2?

Be-sweet was Ok for the 3 front speakers but when the suround right & left came on the sound would ocasionally jump briefly to the Left or right speaker ? Very strange

Would be interesting to hear other peoples experiances in trying to encode audio optimising for Pro-logic II
    :P
