DVD->VCD in different language w/ or w/o subtitles

Hi Everybody, I backed up a movie of mine yesterday for the first time and I was curious to know how one can go from DVD->VCD in a different Language (French) and with subtitles??? Actually I don't even know if I'm in the right forum for this, but thanks for in advance!

First you follow this Guide

Then in the setting of Flask you can pick whatever you wish (language, subtitle) as long as your DVD has that option.

or choose diff. audio track in dvd2avi and find foreign audio

also, vobsub/vdub for subs

I did use dvd2avi, but I don't know where to select the foreign audio, could you elaborate on this???
What are Vobsub/ Vdub for subs?

did you rip w/ smartripper?

if so, the main menu of smartripper has a box (upper right) that states the various audio streams (look for the stream number of the foreign audio you want....usually english is the first one on top, which corresponds to audio track 1 in dvd2avi...you can go from there)
