Subtitles f*cked up with Dvdx 1.8 or 2.0

Hi there..

After converting form Dvd to Vcd with Dvdx 1.8 or 2.0 the subtitles are F*cked up.
They are hard to read and the color is grey instead of white.

What have I done:

1* Rip the original dvd with CladDVD XP 1.3
2* Convert to VCD with DVDx 2.0

Who knows what can be the problem ?
