What's wrong with my My Samsung DVD 709

Hello fellas, I been burning VCD's for awhile now, and they all burn with no problem, i use cdrwin, and roxio5.2... Well when it comes to playing the the cd in my DVD player i have to keep trying to get it to read the disc. It will say disc is unreadable, So i continue to press play anyways hopeing that it would pic up the disc. Well if i keep trying it would end up playing the VCD with no problem, Im using the gold Memorex cdr with the blueish green tint. is that not the right cd to be burning as a vcd disc for my type of dvd player? should i try a cdrw? the vcd's will play, after pushing play about 50 times..=0( Help!

Try getting a firmware upgrade for your unit.

I made a SVCD with nero and it works nice in my Pioneer DV-535 but when I play it in my friends Samsung 811 it is the same problem, no disc complaning and sometimes it works.
I use ordinary Verbatim cd's and burn in 2x.
I need to make the SVCD to work with other player and if you know how, I thank you a lot...

I had a 709 (actually still do, I just don't use it ) and it didn't read ANY CDR or CDRW's. Supposedly, there are a select few brands it will read, but even then playback is sketchy at best. You can check out http://www.709online.com for more.

It's interesting though that you mention it will play after hitting play a number of times. I don't know if you're pulling our legs with that one or not... Regardless, nobody wants to hit play 50 times every time they watch a VCD. My advice is either sell the 709 or move it to another TV and pick up a player that is meant to play recordables, like a Pioneer, Apex, etc.

Thanx for you help fellas, And yes it's true i do have to sometimes push the play button on the remote several times to get the freakin movies to play, then agian sometimes all i have to do is push play once and BAM! it plays... so yeah i may just try getting another DVD player.... I know my stuff when it comes to makeing movies, but i will admit this stuff with the vdc playing once in awhile had me stumped.. Maybe i'll try a Verbaitom cdr... also i purchased my DVD about 1yr and ahalf ago.... take care fellas Thanx

I have a 709 and once I perfected the burning, the 709 has never given me any problems.

I use the Vivastars from argos (Cheap), never get reading errors, unless the disk is dirty, comes up fine, I have found WinOnCD the best for the burning, Easy CD creater can have problems in the last quarter of the disk

The is VCD, SVCD is another matther , the 709 picks up the disk no problem, however playback is a problem the disk jumps all over the place.

Never got a CDRW to work at all.

So Tell me, How do i burn VCD's with CDRWIN? I use it to burn Bin files, But i never used it to actually burn a VCD.. Help me out on this one bro..=0) thanx.......Dee

Damn Me!!! im sorry , i meant to say can you please give me instructions on how to burn or make a vcd with winoncd...... not cdrwin.......dee
