    i ripped a few dvds to my hard drive with smartripper its all fine but then when i tried this dvd it didnt start ripping but just kept searching for some key & nothing ever happens like it doesnt even start ripping it to my Hard disk drive.

    make sure that you have an ASPI layer installed.

    It could also be scratches on the disc. I've had this happen with some hired DVD's. One way to minimise it is to just do the key check one. I have yet to see a DVD that changes keys during the movie. So once it gets its first code key SmartRipper will then happily rip the whole disc without getting stuck, although the rip speed might drop dramatically at times.
