Well almost free. CompUsa is/was offering a free DVD player with the purchase of Monster cables for $39. I gave it a shot and the DVD player was a Lenoxx 2003. Got it home and was suprised that it had no problem playing anything I threw at it. VCD, XVCD, SVCD, XSVCD - high and low bit rates. Haven't tested it totally but for the price its not a bad deal. If it is still available in your area I'd give it a shot. Monster cables and a play anything DVD player for $39 - not a primary player but the price is right. I also did some research and the Lenoxx 2003 is both region and macrovision hackable with the remote.

Next,
Could you point me to the info on hacking this player with the remote. I
looked online, but did not find it. A pointer would be greatly appreciated. And yes, I am also impressed for the price!Bob -
