I am a newbie and have read the "how-to's" and such and cannot find an answer to my specific problem. A relative in Germany sent me a CD with video files on it. Quicktime plays them but says they are an "unknown file format". The best I can tell, they are MPEG-1 but they have been muxed (audio and video combined into one track). Ultimately, I would like to burn these files on a VCD to play in my DVD player (yes, it will play VCDs). Can I simply put these files on a VCD using Toast? or is the muxing a problem and how do I fix it? Secondly, Quicktime also tells me that this video has a frame rate of 24 fps. Don't I need to convert that for my (American) DVD player? I alwasy understood that our video needs to be 29.97 fps. Do I need to change the frame rate when I do this? Will Toast understand any of this or do I need to make these conversions in Quicktime? (I have QTPro Version 6)
