  1. I recently updated my Nero from 5.5.4 (Ithink it was, I got it with my HI-VAL Drive last year) to 5.5.9.9 and my question is does anyone know if my recent update to the latest version already include the full unlimted MPEG-2/SVCD plugin?

Or do I need to purchase the plug-in for it?

I ask because of my I'm having problems burning a MPEG-2 file (re-encoded from divx to SVCD with TMPGEnc)...does anyone have any solutions to my problem, please?

I'm thinking if I should encode my divx file with Nero and maybe it will burn ok, I guess...Anyone use Nero to encode to SVCD?

  3. thanks for the reply BJ_M, I appreciate it...

well let me ask you this man, have you heard about people having problems with burning SVCDs w/Nero? I ask because see I was able to burn my very 1st one not too long ago, but now this one certain divx movie I can't and I'm really stuck...

I'll give VCImager a try, is it free? I'll see if I can find it on the Tools section on the left...thanks man!

  4. I noticed the comment that states not to use Nero (with plug in) to encode to SVCD. Why? Is there a problem with it?

I cant speak for BJ_M...so I'll just speak for myself....Any time I've used Nero to encode I've been unhappy with the results.
TMPG allows much more flexability (I do a lot of tweaking) and the resulting encodes are always great....

I use Nero to burn everything....for that I like it.

  6. Nero does not have a great Mpeg/Mpeg2 encoder. It's OK, but not great. I have the MPEG2 encoder and it works fine. The updated version of Nero has too many bugs in it for me, so I use the older version. I encode my vcd's using the encoder hat comes with the DAZZLE USB capture device. It looks much sharper than Nero.
