  1. I'm trying to find out how I can capture stills from an avi file, probably simple when you know how.

    Virtuadub. Load video, go to desired frame. Click Video>copy to clipboard (or F2 i believe). Open paintshop New>paste and Voila!!!!!!

    Just did this myself last night. However, I used Pinnacle Studio DV. Under tools there is a "Grab Frames" Option. I was able to grab it and I save it as JPEG. Studio DV gives you the option to save as .bmp or several other formats.

    man I didn't know I could do this with VDub, so cool...and I always wondered how I could do this...any program, like Photoshop or Photostudio would work as well right?
