  2. They work in the Beta version, can't tell you it will work or how it will work on XP release, personally, I think you people should stop supporting Microsoft so much.

  4. Sorry about that outburst, i'm just sick and tired of microsoft products, and how people support them, people don't get that if Microsoft wins the trial, it will be the end of competition ,and we might also lose the net to them!

    As for the best OS currently available, well there are two:
    Compatibility = Windows98 Second Edition
    Stability = Windows2000 Proessional Edition

    ...what's the alternative? MAC? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! He he... {sigh} (Just had to get that in)

    I agree that XP (RC1 anyway) should run those programs, but capturing is another story as yet (after release, some of the companies, though probably not ATI, will have upgraded capture software for XP, many don't work yet)...

    I say let Microsoft win the trial, run roughshod over the entire technology industry, and bring the world economy to ruin. People don't need the interent. It's merely a convenient way to do things we've done before by other means.

    I could personally live without the internet and my computer, but if I had a choice, I'd rather not. However, if Bill Gates wants to be last man standing on the internet, well hell, let him.

  8. It's because of attitude like that, that we have no good software now days, I personaly like my computer, it's my all-in-one center, saves me alot of money, and thankfully, I fight Microsoft on every level I can, I don't have Windows on a daily basis, I don't use Office, and I have an alternative to any Microsoft product, oh, and no crashes!

    Even with the handful of companies essentially in control of technology, it still takes the equivalent of organizing World War III to get anything developed based on across-the-board standards.

    Sure, if Microsoft didnt rule the computer world, we'd have better software. But would it work on anything?

  10. Don't know how to tell you, but there was a computer world before Microsoft trashed it, OS/2 till today is very much alive, and is still better then anything Microsoft ever did (did they really do anything ??) and you also have Linux, so there is other market, people are just too lazy.

  11. the best OS to run programs in windoz 98. but I only run a few programs all the time so my OS of choice is Windoz 2000, because it's so stable. stay away from Mac and Windoz ME espically, my pc came pre-loaded with Windoz ME and I hated it a lot. Linux is good also, but I'd only recommend if you're a programmer because it's not compatiable with many programs.

  12. I have ran Windows XP since it first came out and I can tell you that tmpgenc does not work correctly with XP. After you encode and playback you will see small dots or other artifacts all over the screen. It works absolutely top notch with Win 2K though.

  13. I'd much rather not use Windows but it's just too easy. I am a BIG Linux fan, but as far as the home user (non-tech savvy)is concerned, it's just not where it needs to be right now. XWindows is getting better with Great environments like KDE 2x but it's just not there yet.

    Another problem with the LInux Community is that thre are too many distributors doing things their own way. That kind of action will hinder software developement on any platform. The community needs to come together and standardize everything. Too bad it will never happen.
