  1. hi, whenever i try to capture video using PICVideo Codec, i always experience around 15-30% dropped frames. quality is set at 17 or 16.

i have a Winfast TV2000 Xp as my capture card.
    i also have a 40 gb 7200rpm hard drive.
    pentium3 450mhz
192MB ram, OS is Windows XP

i ran the diagnostic test provided with virtualdub, diagnostic says that my hard disk is capable of capturing 640 x 480@29.97fps with 0% dropped frames.

What should i do? if i buy a PCI ATA133/100 Raid Contoller, would it solve my problem?

please help me! thanks in advance!

I don't know about the RAID controller. My computer will cap easily at 640X480 uncompressed. How much other stuff do you have running on it? See what you can do uncompressed...

Do a ctrl+alt+del --> taskmanager --> performance. See if your processor is hitting 100%. If so, that might be your cause.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
