  1. Hi, I'm pretty new at this. Here's my situation: I have some 512x384 avi files that I want to encode as MPEGs and burn to VCD. I can't seem to get the size right for my TV. I am using TMPGEnc. I have an old console TV, and an APEX DVD Player. The files are subtitled, so it's important that the whole image shows up. Any suggestions? Let me know if you need any more info to figure out what I need to do! Thanks!

    did you do this:
For your 'Video Arrange Method', on the Advanced tab, make sure you select "Full Screen (Keep Aspect Ratio)?
    if not, that should help
I would certainly recommend encoding small test clips and using CDRW until you get things set right.
what are you askin' me for...
    I'm an idiot!

  3. I've tried several different combinations of aspect ratios and arrange methods, but I don't think Full Screen (k. a. r.) was one of them. I'll give it a shot with some test clips. Thanks.

  4. OK, I tried Full Screen (Keep Aspect Ratio). This improved the horizontal fit on the TV, but I'm still losing the top and bottom edges of the picture. The image looks fine as it's encoding on TMPGEnc, but it still doesn't work with my DVD/TV setup. Anybody have other ideas? Anybody? Bueller?
