I am looking for the correct software that will let me take my .m2v files and .AC3 files and put them together. Someone said spruce up and I tried that but since I don't have a crack/hack for it I cannot get it to take my .AC3 files it took my .m2v files just fine but will not accept my .AC3 files since it is a trial version. But Apple bought it and is no longer selling the software. Is there other software out there that works the same and will accept .AC3 files?

Use Sonic DVDit PE (Professional Edition)
I use 2.5 but it's buggy, crashes randomly when adding ac3 files to the movies. I save alot and eventually when I get it all setup I can build the VIDEO_TS folder to burn but it takes a lot of patience.
I want to get ReelDVD but it's expensive like $1000 and this is for my personal use so I don't think I'll be buying it any time soon. -
I will give Sonic DVDit a try. Anyone else know of any programs that would work with out costing $1000.00?

Spruce up cracks aren't that hard to find. As for it accepting AC3 files, it should do this automatically, however, the m2v and ac3 file should have the same nameand be in the same directory, e.g. d:\movie.m2v and d:\movie.ac3
Also, watch out if your movie is in 16:9 format...Spruce Up will author it as 4:3. The trick around this is to author the DVD to a directory on your hard drive and then edit the .IFO files with ifoedit...it sounds complicated but it isn't.
As for other software, I'm not sure of many consumer level progs that accept 5.1 ac3 files. Spruce does, DVDit I think will only accept 2ch ac3 (or is that DVD Workshop...I'm not too sure now). You could give Pinnacle Studio 8 a try...I am yet to but I've heard it is good... -
Bartman being rather new to this stuff. Where should one start looking?
email me?
-
Bartman, your right it's DVDit that will not take .AC3. I have not tried DVD Workshop but according to the write up at Ulead it will not take them either.
P@iNKilleR, I have been giving myself a headache tonight trying to find SpruceUp 1.1 Key Gen. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack. I will checkout your email later today and maybe that will guide me in the right direction. For now I can't take anymore. -
check out dvdsoft.net its a direct link, some usefull tools & otherthings aswell m8

Thanks for everyone's help I did finally get it and I think it works now my problem is: I have created a image and now I would like to burn that onto a DVD. I tried looking at Nero but they don't support my HP DVD+R/+RW 200e. If someone knows how to use the software that came with the DVD drive let me know what I am missing. If someone knows what software I need that would support my drive please tell me.

Check the burning software you got with your drive, it should let you create a disk using UDF/ISO filesystem. Then just copy over your VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders to the root of your image and burn...

Bartman,
Create a disk using UDF/ISO filesystem...I will check to see if I can do that. Just copy over your VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders to the root of your image and burn...Never did that how do you do that and how do you know if you are burning to the root of your image? Need clarification. Tutorial? Now I don't suppose that by just burning over the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders to the DVD+RW would work? That would just give me a backup of the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS that cannot be played on a DVD player. Correct?
-
I'm not sure what burner software you have....but you basically want to "back up" your VIDEO_TS etc folders onto your DVD using a UDF/ISO filesystem.
The equivilent in Nero is to create a new UDF/ISO project and drag the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders onto it.....that's it. If you DVD player will play DVD+R it should then play the disk as a DVD video. -
I just got done checking out some old forum files at http://www.dvdplusrw.org/ and a couple of people had Nero 5.5.0.9 and a HP 200e DVD+R/+RW working together on the firewire connection. I will need to troubleshoot later.
I will try your suggestion, after I troubleshoot with no success the Nero 5.5.0.9 problem first. Thank you again for the information and the much needed help.

Hello folks !
In my opinion Roxio Videopack 5.1 is good to use and it supports AC-3 5.1 .
First rip the DVD with any Program you prefer, then I use DVD2SVCD to build a 4 Gig MPEG-File with Video AND AC-3-Audio (I know there are other ways to build MPEG-Files). To build such a file you have to edit the DVD2SVCD-Ini by the way. CAUTION: You have to check DO NOT CONVERT AUDIO or DVD2SVCD will build Stereo-Sound ! After all use the Videopack to build a menu (with motion !), insert the MPEG-File and let the Program build the disc ! Thats all and it is done in nearly 5-7 Hours. A long time but its the quality worth (Bitrates up to 9.5 MBit/s). For further questions mail to my adress.
Greets from Germany _Sly_Life is a terrible adventure, but the graphic is fantastic ! -

I had problems getting spruce up to import the ac3 file, I found that by re nameing the m2v file and the ac3 file it will import both files fine, first name the m2v file the name of the movie EG spiderman do not call it spiderman m2v just spiderman the name the ac3 file spiderman.wav, do not convert the ac3 file to a wav file just call it spiderman.wav , I have had 100 pecent success importing bot files into spruce up this way.
