  1. Hey there,

I am making pretty good strides in the dvd back up battle with all the help from this site and also Doom9.

I am trying to create a dvdr with only the main movie and followed Derrow's guide how to do this. But my finished product does not play on my stand alone player but does play fine on my pc. Here is my process. The movie was Zoolander.
    1. Ripped entire movie with DVD Decryptor in fille mode.
    2. had to transcode the video with Rempg2 to bring it down to under 4.3
    3. Loaded VTS_08_0.IFO which is where the main movie was
    4. clicked VOB Extras and unchecked everything except create new VIDEO_TS and VTS_01_ located.
    5. Renamed my previous vob files to VTS_01_1 and so on
    6. ran get VTS Sectors
    6. burned with Nero 5.5.8.0 in UDF/ISO mode

did not play on stand alone. Any help would be greatt. Thanks in advance.

Did you make sure that the VIDEO_TS directory was in capitol letters. I can tell you from bitter expierence that capitol letters is absolutely required for play on a standalone.

  3. Hey there,

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, everything is capatalized. I also read over the guide again and I noticed that it mentions something about keeping the original VTS.IFO on the disc also. Is this true? Also the guide says to get VTS Sectors on VIDEO_TS.IFO first and then the VTS_01_.IFO. Everything I have read ssays to do VIDEO_TS.IFO last. Have you tried this method? Thanks

  5. Hey Enemy

thanks for the help but I have a few questions. I pretty much followed your guide to the letter except I did not load VTS_08_0.IFO and find what vot ids I needed. But, I did not strip any ids so would it matter which ones I need to keep or is it necessary to strip out some ids. Also do I need to keep the original .ifo file that Ifoedit changed to VTS)01_0.IFO?
