Ok, I just checked also, although the headers show that in the top of the list, there is only one person who says it plays "WMA VBR"

Who knows, but I have never heard of this before, and why would you anyway ?. MP3 or WAV(CD) is default with most players.

  6. Have a number of WMA albums on my computer - same quality as Standard MP3 but half the size.

Yes but it does not matter if your going to put them on a CD, half the size means nothing, without knowing the bitrate.

    You can make a MP3 from 10K to 10Mb !

    Check out www.goldwave.com (Get MP3 plug-ins)

    Save MP3 > 96Kbps ??
