ok just got nightmare on elm street(avi) and cut using virtualdub. now i have downloaded TMPGEnc, VCDeasy and all other stuff needed, now i have read the how to convert section of this site and im a little (really alot) confused. The guide tells me two ways of changing the avi movie into mpeg 2 so i can make a svcd (i have mpeg 2 encoder downloaded from nero website). One, is where I open tmpgenc and go thru project wizard and I format, select source file, filter settings, birate settings, then encode. The other is where I open virtualdub and get the framerate and do something with the movie to get a wav file. After, I open TMPGEnc and instead of using project wizard I close it and go straight to encoding. One of my questions are, is this the samething or are they different ways of converting avi to mpeg2. If they are different what are the differences in doing each one. Now onto buring now I have read some post here and it seems nero is not the best way to go to make a svcd so thats why i downloaded vcdeasy. I have tried using it and i definetly have questions about this. First one is, when choosing a cd writer i have two choices, either 0,0,0:NERO, IMAGEDRIVE2, 1.0h or 1,1,0:LITE-ON, LTR-24102B, 5S07 which one do i choose?and next to that are 2 boxes simulate and burn i assume i choose burn. when answering please note that i almost have no clue when doing this stuff i just follow the guides that are in here so please be specific

Scan for junk frames in Vdub, save using video/audio streaming if it finds any.
Load AVI into TMPGEnc, Load PAL/NTSC VCD Template.
START
One large mpeg1
Use TMPGEnc Merge&Cut to split file into two if it wont fit on 1 80 Min CD
Load each Mpeg 1 into Nero, select VCD
Burn
You need to start with the basic VCD, if you made a SVCD and it did not work, then you may think it was something your did
