  1. Ok, I started out by ripping files from DVD to hard drive and came up with an m2v and an ac3 file. Now I only want to encode the m2v file with TMPGEnc. but when I do, it only encodes part of it. I went into advanced settings and made sure that the source range was not checked so I don't know what could be causeing the problem. When I begin to encode I go into preview and move the slider and I'm able to see the entire movie so I don't know why when I encode it that I don't get all of it.

On another note I was having audio sync problems because TMPGEnc. would not accept my ac3 file. So, I had to convert it to an mp2wav with Besweet so it would accept it but when I multiplexed The m2v with the mp2wav it was out of sync. I wanted to convert the m2v to an mpeg2 file so that when it's multiplexed again maybe it'll be in sync but i can't encode the whole movie. Any solutions?

  2. how did you get the ac3 and m3v out of the vobs?
yeah the ac3 will have to be converted to wav or mp2(better i think) before most encoders will accept it. i to have been having the problems you are describing with tmpeg. never figured it out though. when you say it will only encode a part is there a certian place it will stop. is it the same place every time?

without knowing this is would be hard to say whats up. but more than likely there is a problm with the source.

give it a try in DVD2SVCD and see what happens.

Sounds like a lot of work to me ?
The AC3 codec could be missing from your system, as TMPGEnc handles those with no problems.

Maybe should try out some other programs, that don’t need so much work.

Smart Ripper to rip the VOB files (Very fast)

DvdX to convert them to AVI/Mpeg 1/2

Load IFO, select VCD as output, sit back and watch it convert

    Just as quick as TMPGEnc

  4. Well actually I figured it out already and burnt a perfect DVD. Well ok maybe not perfect but very close. What I did was convert the ac3 to a mp2 with Besweet and then I multiplexed the m2v with the mp2 in TMPGEnc. Then, I opened that file up in TMPGEnc. and I also added the mp2 and encoded them together. The audio matched up perfectly and I was able to get all of the movie. I'm sure there's an easier way to do this but it worked for me.

As for not getting all of the video before, I don't know. It seemed that whenever I would encode just the video it wouldn't get it all but when I had it multiplexed I could get it

And yes, I'll try looking for a codec, plugin or whatever so I don't have to go through this mess again but actually I've been through worse.

    xnakX,
To answer your question about how I got the m2v and ac3 files from the vob, I used smartripper and a guide on this website called "newbie DVD2DVD-R". You also asked me when I encode if it stopped at the same spot every time. Yes it did but as for why it did I don't know for sure.
