  1. I was wondering if nero or vcdeasy can burn a svcd so that the multiple mpeg2 files will play smoothly from one to the next WITHOUT A PAUSE between them. I have been using nero and there is always a pause between files. Is there a time gap setting I am missing or do I need to use vcdeasy? I cannot get frameserve to work with virtual dub and tmpgenc. And I also can't get the join feature on tmpgenc to work without playback jitters. So I am stuck burning all these little mpeg2 files . I was just wondering if they can be burned so there is no pause between them. Anybody know?

Nero has a default 2 sec gap between tracks which you can set to 0, just right click on each mpg loaded. However, almost all dvd players have at least a sec or two pause when switching tracks. You are simply never going to get seamless playback with multiple mpg tracks.

Why are all of these mpgs separate? Joining mpeg2 is extremely messy, few programs can do it well and I don't think any can do it consistently well. TMPGenc is probably the best tool for this purpose and it is far from perfect.

If possible join these files before converting to mpeg2. Mpeg1 and avi are much easier to join.

Why exactly are you not able to frameserve from vdub? Its a pretty straightforward process. Have you read the guide on this site?

  3. Thanks for the info Adam. I was kinda hoping you would reply since you know alot about this video editing stuff( I've read many post of yours and seem extremely knowledgeable about everything). The reason they are separate is because since I have win 98 I had to capture in smaller sections. I really wish I could get the frameserve to work with vdub and tmpg. But I have read all the tutorials and know exactly how to do it, except that tmpg will not open the vdr file. I read all the posts about using the different versions of vdub and all about the proxy settings, and setting the priority in tmpg to higher settings. It still will not load the vdr. It seems lots of people have had a problem with this at some time or another. I get the same error as everyone else" unable to load vdr file, or unsupported" or something to that effect. I tried 1.4 , 1.4.9 , 1.4.10 versions of vdub and I also tried installing that special file( don't remember what it is called) into the win/sys32 folder. When I start the frameserve, do I save the .vdr file to a special place. I have been just saving it to the desktop. I have been naming it for instance- 1.vdr.avi is this wrong. When I save it this way it just looks like a regular wmplayer icon. If I save it as: 1.vdr it just looks like a file. Which way is correct?
I also tried tmpg for joining the mpg files together but when I burn and play it on standalone player the video and audio stutters. They play fine singly. Maybe its nero, I don't have a clue. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for responding, nobody ever responds to me.
