i was wondering if i need to buy a "4MB video card for minimum 24-bit high color" for my computer for this new digital cam/camcorder i got. My computer i bought brand new a year and a half ago and its a compaq presario 5000 with pentium 3 processor. i appreciate all comments. thanx.

yes and no. first off, a video card that is 1.5 years old should have at least 4MB of memory already, even if it is onboard. I would guess 8MB but then again, you could have gotten the $499 special (no matter what you paid for it).
if you cannot see 16bit, 24bit or 32bit on your monitor control panel, you probably don't have the correct video card or monitor drivers installed.
