probs playing a svcd with powerdvd

Hi, i have a svcd that plays fine on a friends computer but gives me the following 2 error messages in powerdvd 4, "Error Code: 89020003 - The DVD disc might have been damaged so as to inhibit playback operation" and "Error Code: 80004003 - Invalid Pointer". The only suggestions i have found are to install new aspi drivers w2kaspi10701 and also the official powerdvd patch to build 1811 is sposed to fix error code 89020003. Both these ideas fail to make any difference.

Can anyone help me please.

That may seem dumb but maybe your cd-rom drive is the problem if you have the possibility and have not tried yet use it in another cd drive, or try to get a cd cleaner disk.
