  1. I have the ATI All in Wonder Radeon 8500 128 meg video card. I want to know what is the best settings to use to capture for DVD. I want the best quality possible. Im captureing at 720x480 MPEG2. My question is should I mess with the P and B frames? Right now they are set to P=4 and B=2. Also, should it be set to CBR or VBR? I have the Video bit rate set to 15mbs. This is the max. I also have the Motion Estimation Quality set to 100 (max). Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks Boxingjunkie

  2. the dvd standard max bitrate is 9.8 Mbps.
usually good dvds range up to about 8Mbps avg (VBR 9.8 max)
    IBP 15/3 (P=4 B=2)
copy the DVD profile and change the motion estimation as high as you can w/o dropping frames ( that <1% dropped can be a fluke, but if you see 1% or higher or choppy video then lower the setting)
make sure you're using MMC 7.7.0.1, since you need 48khz audio for dvd compliance too.
