So, I am making a compilation CD of my favorite Tool music videos...and I would like to know if it is possible to burn it so that I can listen to the music alone in a normal CD player (Portable/Car/etc) but also still play it on a DVD player?
How would I be able to do this?

Nope, unless you make a mp3 disk.
You will have to burn one music CD formated CD-R for your CD player, and one VCD or SVCD formated disk for your DVD player.
