As the subject area says, I'm using a Philips Magnavox DVD825 player. I encoded part of a movie with a constant bitrate of 2100 in the svcd format. It plays fine on my computer, but when I play it in the dvd player the audio has skips. There is the known problem with this player playing svcds for the audio to become desynchronized near the start, but that is fixed by pausing and unpausing. It's different on this disc though in that it has an audio skip once every 5-10 seconds but the sound/video never become noticeably desynchronized. I thought maybe it was that the audio was actually becoming very slightly desynchronized and resynced itself but I'm not sure. I also don't think it could be that the bitrate is too high, 2100 is far below the standard 2520 and I've used below 2100 without any problems. If anyone can help me out at all I'm all ears.
