help: problem with audio on mov to mpg using TMPGE

I am trying to convert a mov file to mpg so I can burn to a VCD. The encoding goes all the way to 100%, but then i get a TMPGE(not responding)--when I hit (cntrl alt del) I get the not responding message. When I then try to open the file, the video worked fine but no sound at all. I tried using RAD TOOLS software as well. I even tried to record the sound by using TOTAL RECORDER (I think that's what it is called). When that program is installed the sound is all jacked up when the movie is playing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I have the exact same problem after installing Total Recorder.
Could anyone help me out with this ??
