Sanyo DWM-270 read vcd or svcd?

Hi..
I have a question about a dvd player that isn't listed in the comparisons list... and since this website helped me trouble shoot my video card problem, I thought I'd try my luck again.
I bought a dvd player last Christmas (Sanyo DWM-270) and it was about the same price as the Sanyo DWM-370 ($120).. back then anyway. I can't find any info on it, I have typed the model number into several search engines and tried sanyo.com but can't find any info on it. The manual doesn't say whether it reads vcd or svcd xvcd or anything at all besides dvd and mp3s.
I was wondering if it could read svcd or vcd or if i should just stop wasting my cds (and time!). The DWM-370 says it does it all except DVDr and DVDrw. Is the 270 similar or is that the difference between the two models?
I know it's a long shot asking if anyone has this player... but it couldn't hurt
Does anyone have this dvd player or familiar with it?

stick a VCD in and try it out.

It should play SVCD as it is MPEG2 just as a DVD (Havent seen one that dosen't play SVCD yet)
