  1. Remove the tesco's background and replace it with something you actually want.

    1. Take the image you want as your background and use it as the source file in TMPGEnc-2.57.41.146-Free.zip

    2. Adjust the settings so that the output mpg is 720x480 and 22073(or slightly less)bytes.

    3. Get hold of the original BANK30.ROM firmware from Tesco.

    4. Open EZPatchV12.zip and point it to the firmware, the only patch available will be the background patch. Choose it and select the mpg you made before as the file to patch it with.

5.Save the output as raw.bin, not bank30. Then change the file name to BANK30.ROM.

    6. Burn the new rom onto a CD and flash away.

    OP

It sounds like the DVD player has some "tesco" logo when you switch it on, the above is telling you to replace the software (Firmware) in your DVD player with the above.

You need to find that firmware upgrade, but be aware that doing this would void any guarantee you have and could render the DVD un-usable

  3. I have the bank30.rom disc and have used this to enable the use of SVCD's and have also changed it from region2 to multiregion.
From what i can see in the instuctions above I need to open the rom disc somewho and change something in it, is this how you would see it.

If its likely to damage it in some way I'll put up with it but I find every time I switch it on and the tesco background complete with phone no comes up a bit annoying and wouldnt put up with it if it was a tv and it did this.

    Thanks for your reply.

Ok well I read the above as "EZPatchV12.zip " this will only make changes to the logo. So its telling you to use TMPGEnc to make a background image that will be displayed instead of the present logo.
