Sounds to me like you haven't got NERO setup right to overburn it.
Fire up Nero, goto file -> down to preferences, in the General tab set the RED MARKER to 85, uncheck-> the check for correct cd before burning, then click on the EXPERT FEATURES TAB, CHECK enable overburn disa-at-once option, in the maximum cd length set your time to 99mins 59secs 00.
Click apply at the bottom and your done.
You should now be able to burn it to a 80 minute CDR -
First of all you are in DIRE need of help.
Second of all, this is not an overburn. When you add the 796 mpeg in Nero it should come in under 700 MB when Nero compresses it for the VCD. Have you tried to simulate the burn?
Thirdly, I have been using Nero to make VCDs and SVCDs (and CVDs) for a year and many people on this forum use it, so no, it doesn't suck at making VCDs.End of Line. -
Try making an SVCD,not VCD. Nero uses about 2MB to create a VCD but only a few KB for SVCD. I try to avoid making a file over 795MB for this reason.
