Ok, I'm new to the world of Video Capture and Encoding..
I wanted to know why DVD2AVI works but it makes the video in that wierd ratio...? And how does the audio and video come together when u make the .AVI file in the program..?
PLEASE HELP ! All I want is to turn MPEG2 files into AVI's. I tried Vidomi, and it doesn't work very well.
HELP ME!!
thank you..

Try Mpeg Mediator,it will concert mpeg and vob to avi. as one file including the audio. I think it's in the tools area or do a search.

DVD2AVI is only intended to be used as an intermediatary step. The aspect ratio and combination of the video & audio streams can happen further down the line.
Use DVD2AVI to save the MPEG2 file out as a .d2v project file and an uncompressed wav audio stream. You can then convert the .d2v into a fake .avi file with VFAPIConv and load it into VirtualDub for conversion to a real .avi file.
Its not as complicated as it sounds.
