  1. Im new to this, but I just bought a dvd-rom and some dvd's. What I want to do is copy a full movie to my hard drive and whenever I want to play it, just open up power dvd and select one file. I dont want to change format, have many files, compress, or have subtitles or extra angles. I just want one file that I can open.

I tried using smart ripper and followed the guide here. It copied over one file and I opened it with powerdvd. It seems to play fine, but I cant use the time bar to move to a different spot. And everytime I do it just goes back to the begning. I tried to open it with media player, but the time bar is grayed out. Its like all I can do is play but cant move to a different spot. Everything else seems to be ok with the file.

Do I have to do anything extra? After it copied the file over I just opened it and that should be it right? Did I have a setting incorrect? Any ideas?

    Search Comp PM
get dvddecrypter and rip in iso mode
then you can just mount the iso with dameon virtuul drive whenever you want to play it. this keeps everthing just like you are playing the original dvd
