  1. Please can someone help

i was trying to put my svcd films on to dvdr but i have have to join my movies as when i done the svcds when i did not have a dvd burner i had to do them on 2 discs

anyway when i patch the movie to change the 480x480 to 352x480 it messes up the second half of the movie (cd2) and the picture is all screwed up

and when i drag the movie over in spruce up all seems fine so i thought i'd record and see and it only records the first half of the film not the second half which is messed up

can anyone help as my dvd player does not play svcds on cdr but does on dvdr

    i need it

Convert the SVCD's to 1/2 DVD format (which it looks like you are doing) in two parts. Remember you also need to convert the audio from 44.1Khz to 48Khz (DVD standard). Once you have the two MPG files - THEN join them in whatever you use, tmpgenc or whatever. Once you have a final MPG - play it through the join in your software DVD player to make sure it's OK. If OK - then burn it to DVDr...

    Good Luck.

  3. confused2002, when you say you "patch" your 480x480 to 352x480, did you actually transcoded it? or did you just patch the first header to 352x480?

The correct (clean and quick) procedure is:

    1) De-mux SVCD to video and audio files
    2) Patch just the video first header to 352x480
    3) Transcode JUST the audio file to 48Khz
    4) Rename the audio file to .mpa
    5) Import just video file to Spruce and spruce would automatically import the audio file with the same name with .mpa extension. Most people didn't know this and do a mux. Save you a lot of time on this part.

    * Don't try to play the video since the first header is wrong *

    6) patch the video header back to 480x480

Now, everything is in place and you can "similate" it or burn it.
