It's actually the first time I've heard of it as well. I saved a file and it's extension was .smi. I read as much as I could about it, but I'm still not quite sure about it. Apparently it can only be played on real player, and quicktime. I'd like to try and put the file on a vcd but you can only burn MPEG files to vcd...as far as I know. Sorry that's all I know, but if you can help I would be your biggest fan.
Thanks!!!!! -
Im sorry, but I haven't been able to track down any relevant information about the *.SMI video format.. I know how frustrating this would be for you, but if you have some spare time and want to do some seriously reading, try www.google.com with theese params "MPG+DivX+SMI"
I did, and WOW very many hits indeed! I havent got the time to do the acctual inspection of the pages. I only hope you find what youre questing for. Last, if you haven't been on http://www.divx-digest.com - do it!
Indeed cram full of codecs and tools..
Best of luck to you..
