I am running XP Pro and have a JVC Digital Camcorder. I have it hooked up through firewire.
I am looking to be able to tranfer all my home video to my pc and then burn it to dvd.
The end result to be able to cut dvds and send them to family.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Netman

Ummm, doesn't windows movie maker only output to wmv?
Generally the capture process is the same as for VCD/SVCD (I recommend AVI, as lossless as possible and capture both fields: ?x480 resolution).
Then you just have to encode the MPEG2 as DVD compliant (352x480 is a good resolution if the source is VHS). There is plenty of information around the help you with this part of the job, including default templates in a wide range of software.
