I'm trying to create a SVCD movie from my miniDV AVI file via the Pinnacle Studio 7 however the end result had always poor quality even if I try to fit only 35 min on 1 CD. I also tried this with TMPGEnc with the same bad result. If I however convert a DVD (VOB files) to SVCD with TMPGEnc I can fit 60 min of good quality on one 80min CD in SVCD. Can anybody help me to create good looking SVCD movies?

In Studio 7 I have been exporting my DV to 720x480 high quality AVI (uncompressed or lightly compressed) and then using whatever template I want in TMPGenc.
The S7 encoder does not have very high quality but I found this method gives good quality.Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'
