I just bought a old pentium 233mhz computer off ebay and had a question about graphics card? What is the difference between agp or pci cards and can I put either card in my pc. And how would I know which one I have. And if I upgrade my motherboard and processor would that change whether I had a pci or agp slot on my computer. Sorry but I am a newbie in installing parts into my computer

Since your chip is running at 233Mhz, I don't think it matters whether you use the PCI or AGP slot.
The AGP slot has more bandwith. In other words, more information can travel to and from the graphics card. Most new graphics cards run on the AGP slot. -
i'd say a geforce 2 or a voodoo 3 would probably work good. anything else would be overkill cause the slow processor would hold it back.
