    hi this hopefully is a simple question , when i ripp a dvd or get a dvd ripp there usually in .avi, i really dont want to convert it to mpeg, i would like to keep file in .avi , but some are over the 700mb level that i can burn, is there any way u can break up a file when it's in .avi, i really don't care about burning it to vcd etc...... plz someone help!

    VirtualDub will cut and join...as well as recompress to any of your favorite codecs.....
